The Department has 2 units .Unit I headed by Dr. A.L.Rao and Unit II headed by Dr. V.A.Jaison. Unit II of the department is equipped with “state of the art” technology to provide the following facilites.

About Dr.V.A.Jaison
A graduate from Calicut Medical College and later Diploma in Ophthalmology and MS (Ophthalmology) from the same Institution, DNB (Ophthal) from Aravind Eye Hospital. Madurai , he has several credentials to his name including
:: Fellowship in International Council of Ophthalmology(UK)
:: Senior General Ophthalmology Fellowship (Aravind Eye Hospital, Madurai)

He was awarded for the Best Thematic Video Film screened at All India Ophthalmic Society Meeting held at Cochin. He has co-authored for “Manual on Small Incision Cataract Surgery” an alternative technique to instrumental phacoemulsification. Published by Aravind Eye Hospital and Post graduate Institute of Ophthalmology. He has presented more than 20 papers at various conferences

Dr. A Laxminarayana. MBBS, DOMS, MS
A Consultant Ophthalmic surgeon,he has been working at the koyili hospital since 1987.After completing his MBBS in 1979,he proceeded to do DOMS(1984) and MS (Ophthalmology 1985), all from Govt Medical College Mysore, affiliated to Mysore University. He stood first in the university for both his DOMS and MS.
